In a surprising turn of events, Ajay Devgn’s recent release, “Shaitaan,” has further solidified the superstar’s dominance at the box office, captivating audiences with its supernatural horror thrills. However, little-known is the fact that Ajay, a veteran of numerous successful films, had once exited Rakesh Roshan’s “Karan Arjun.”
Reports indicate that Roshan’s initial casting choice for the reincarnation action drama included Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, with a dedicated photoshoot for the film. Despite these efforts, the project ultimately featured SRK and Salman Khan. Speculation circulated in Bollywood circles that SRK expressed a preference for Karan’s role, while Ajay was eager to portray Arjun. However, Rakesh Roshan remained steadfast, leading both actors to walk away.
Roshan then turned to Aamir Khan and Salman Khan for the roles, but Aamir’s scheduling conflicts prevented his participation. Intriguingly, upon learning of Aamir’s interest in the film, SRK re-entered the project.
Notably, Ajay Devgn’s father, the esteemed action director Veeru Devgn, who was initially involved in the film, also withdrew his participation. His decision stemmed from disappointment over his son’s inability to be a part of what he perceived as an excellent film.
Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, “Karan Arjun” emerged as one of the blockbuster hits of the year, solidifying its place in the annals of Bollywood success stories.
