Veteran actor Vijayakumar’s son, actor Arun Vijay, has lodged a formal complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office against a prominent YouTube channel. The channel is accused of spreading false information about Arun Vijay and his family. Several years ago, a Tamil newspaper faced backlash for publishing inappropriate news about actresses, including Vijayakumar’s second wife, Manjula.
Vijayakumar’s marital history includes his first marriage to Muthukannu in 1969, resulting in three children—Kavita Vijayakumar, Anita Vijayakumar, and Arun Vijay. Later, he married actress Manjula in 1976, and they had three daughters—Vanitha Vijayakumar, Preetha Vijayakumar, and Sridevi. Manjula passed away in 2013 after battling jaundice.
Recently, a YouTube channel has come under scrutiny for disseminating defamatory reports about Vijayakumar and his late wife. Arun Vijay’s formal complaint highlights that the false and damaging comments not only targeted his late stepmother, Manjula, but also extended to his own mother. Despite the filing, the police have yet to take any action.
In another unrelated incident, ‘Vanangaan’ actress Mamitha Baiju has been circulating rumors about alleged mistreatment by director Bala.
Arun Vijay’s most recent appearance was in ‘Mission: Chapter 1,’ directed by AL Vijay. The film, which hit theaters on January 12, features a cast including Amy Jackson and Nimisha Sajayan, along with supporting roles played by Abi Hassan, Bharath Bopana, and Iyal.
