Vivek Ranjith, known for his contributions to the Asif Ali starrer ‘Kili Poyi,’ took to Twitter to express his enthusiasm for the re-release. He described the theater experience as “absolutely crazy.” In his tweet, Ranjith marveled at the electric atmosphere in the theater, where the audience cheered, whistled, and danced passionately to iconic songs like “Kokkarakko” and “Appadi Podu.” He recalled missing the chance to watch ‘Ghilli’ in theaters two decades ago, opting instead for ‘Runway,’ but stressed that the re-release was worth the wait.
Directed by Dharani, ‘Ghilli’ is an action-packed sports film that tells the story of Velu, an aspiring Kabaddi player who becomes embroiled in a battle against the formidable Muthupandi while attempting to rescue Dhanalakshmi. The film was originally released in 2004.
